TITLE: CIUDAD PERDIDA
TYPE: PUBLIC INSTALLATION / GREEN / SOCIAL / PERMANENT
YEAR: 2012
STATUS: REALIZED
CLIENT: HOUSING CORPORATION WOONSTAD ROTTERDAM
Green artistic design on top of a Parking lot (1.500 m2). The original roof was characterised by a
rectangular design, gray colours and surrounded by unesthetically finished facades. The design ‘Ciudad Perdida’ introduced multilevelled cirkels, giving the place a more playful look. More inportant, it turned this forgotten place into an eyecatcher. The integrated benches invite people to come and enjoy the place.
Inspiration: Ciudad Perdida (Lost city) in Colombia. The inspiration for the green roof in Rotterdam.
It is made by Tayrona Indians. The architecture has been copied by the Inca’s. See Machu Picchu.
